Skip Last Recovery Step

The Skip Last Recovery Step option exists to stop Garmin workouts feeling clunky.

When it is enabled, Workout Writer skips the final recovery step in a repeating block if recovery is coming next anyway.

4 x 1km Tempo, 2min Easy
1 min Rest
4 x 1km Tempo, 2min Easy
Cooldown 500m Easy

With Skip Last Recovery Step enabled:

That keeps the workout moving and avoids redundant recovery prompts.

Supported devices

This feature is currently supported for Garmin workouts only.

Apple Watch does not support skipping steps in this way, so workouts sent to Apple Watch will always include all recovery steps as written.

If you prefer complete control, you can disable this option in Garmin Settings and keep every recovery step exactly as written.
